Close Proximity To Bishop Gold Mill
The Taber Gold Mine is conveniently located just 350 miles from North Bay’s milling facility, The Bishop Gold Mill which is able to process 100 tons per day.
Historical Mineral Rich Region
The Melones Fault, part of California’s Mother Lode Belt, is a major geological structure that has historically hosted some of the richest gold deposits in the state, contributing significantly to California’s Gold Rush era.
Historical Significance and Ownership
The Taber Mine has been under continuous family ownership for over a century, with John Morton, the most recent owner, leading extensive exploration efforts. North Bay Resources is now positioned to advance the project to the next phase of development. Previous work on the property was hampered by historical challenges such as economic downturns and operational disruptions, but with modern mining techniques and renewed interest in the site, we are confident that this acquisition represents a major opportunity to unlock the mine’s true potential.
Horace Taber first established on the property in 1848.
Geological Overview and Gold Potential
The Taber Mine is located in close proximity to the Melones Fault, a geological feature known for hosting some of the richest gold deposits in the Mother Lode region. Neighboring mines have produced gold nuggets as large as 90 ounces, highlighting the potential for significant discoveries in the back channel. Initial exploration and geological studies suggest that the remaining gold reserves could be substantial. North Bay Resources aims to prioritize the development of the back channel, where inferred resources have been calculated based on historical production data from adjacent properties.
The Taber Mine is located in Sierra County, California, within the historic Gibsonville mining district near the western slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
Environmental Compliance and Permits
North Bay Resources is committed to environmentally responsible mining practices. The Taber Mine is in full compliance with all environmental regulations, with recent independent studies confirming near-neutral pH levels and the absence of contaminants typically associated with mining activities. We have secured all necessary permits, including a Limited Threat Discharge Permit from the California Water Quality Control Board and a Plan of Operations with the U.S. Forest Service. These approvals, alongside a positive environmental track record, ensure the project can proceed without significant environmental constraints.
The terrain is characterized by rugged, forested mountains with elevations ranging from 5,300 to over 6,000 feet, featuring steep ridges, ancient river channels, and a mix of pine, cedar, and fir trees.
Future Development Plans
North Bay Resources’ primary objective is to initiate further exploration and development of the back channel, which holds significant promise for future gold production. Our focus will be on accessing and evaluating the untapped reserves, with the goal of establishing a profitable mining operation. With permits and infrastructure in place, we are well-positioned to leverage modern mining technologies and expertise to realize the full potential of the Taber Mine.
